Practice: Migrations & Integration

Migrations and integrations, cleanly executed

Email tenants, file servers, VPN systems, hosting providers, and business apps moved with phased cutover and zero-surprise handoff. Fixed-fee, tight scope, real rollback plan documented before we start.

Who this is for

Signals it's time to bring in an outside engineer for this work.

You're coming off a bad vendor and want out clean

The current provider is dragging their feet. We audit, plan the exit, transfer ownership, and cut you over on your timeline.

Your business just acquired (or was acquired by) another

M&A means domain consolidation, email tenant merges, and app integrations. This is exactly the kind of finite, high-stakes work we specialize in.

You're outgrowing GoDaddy Workspace, shared hosting, or Google Workspace

Time to move to Microsoft 365, dedicated hosting, or something enterprise-grade. Zero-downtime cutover is our default.

You have data siloed across too many systems

CRM, accounting, e-commerce, and email all live in separate worlds. We integrate them with real API work, not brittle Zapier duct-tape.

What we deliver

The specific capabilities we scope, build, and hand off.

Email migrations

M365 tenant-to-tenant, Google Workspace to M365, on-prem Exchange to cloud. MFA, DKIM/DMARC, mobile devices, mail flow rules migrated cleanly.

File & storage migrations

On-prem file servers to SharePoint, OneDrive, or Azure Files. Permissions preserved, versions retained, quota honored.

Website & hosting migrations

Off shared hosting, off proprietary CMS, off legacy PHP. Onto Next.js, WordPress, or headless CMS on infrastructure you own.

VPN & network cutovers

Legacy SonicWall to Cisco AnyConnect. Site-to-site rebuilds. SD-WAN evaluations. Phased with rollback.

Domain & DNS work

Domain transfers between registrars, DNS rehosting, SPF/DKIM/DMARC hardening, no downtime for email.

API & app integrations

Stripe to CRM, e-commerce to accounting, custom middleware. Real code, versioned, tested, documented.

A typical engagement

Sample scope: M365 tenant migration for 25 users

  • Pre-migration audit: mailboxes, aliases, distribution lists, shared calendars, mobile enrollments
  • DNS cutover plan (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, autodiscover) with rollback path
  • Provision M365 Business Standard tenant, custom domain, MFA policy
  • Native migration of all mailbox content, calendars, contacts (weekend cutover)
  • Mobile device reconfiguration guide + one live training session for the team
  • Post-cutover mail-flow verification, mailbox rules re-applied, admin handoff docs

Common questions

Can you migrate during business hours or does it have to be a weekend?

Depends on the size and type. Email cutovers we usually schedule for a Friday evening / Saturday morning so Monday opens clean. File migrations we run in the background over multiple days with a short cutover window. We plan around your calendar, not ours.

What if the current provider is uncooperative?

It happens. As long as your business owns the domain and has admin credentials on the tenant, we can execute without their cooperation. If they hold the domain or admin, our first step is helping you get ownership back. It's usually a phone call to the registrar with proof of business ownership.

Do you handle post-migration training?

A live team training session is included in most migration SOWs. Additional sessions (per department, deep-dive on specific features) are add-ons.

What if something breaks after we cut over?

A defined post-cutover support window is included in every migration SOW (typically 2 weeks). Anything that regresses to the previous system's behavior we fix on our clock, no extra charge.

Do you work on migrations remotely, or do you need to come on site?

Almost entirely remote. On-site is available for the cutover weekend if the client wants us physically present (Buffalo-area work is included; outside the area we bill travel at cost).

Ready to scope a project?

Book a 15-minute discovery call. We'll listen, ask questions, and tell you plainly whether the engagement is a fit.
